Protection in
Sword Coast Legends is an
Ability tree for
Clerics,
Paladins and
Fighters. Regardless of their class, heroes that are of true heart seek. above all else. to protect and defend their allies and those who cannot fend for themselves. Protection abilities focus on the ability to close quickly with enemies and to defend against the strongest of attacks.
Protection Abilities
Shield Bash
- Effect: Slam a target with your shield, dealing 2-11 Bludgeoning damage and knocking them down.
- Type: Attack
- Range: 3 Yards
- Cooldown: 40 Seconds
- Requirements: Shield
- Cost: 1 Point
- Ranks: II
Shield Rush
- Effect: Charge forward and slam a target with your shield, dealing 5-23 Bludgeoning damage and knocking your target down for 3 seconds.
- Type: Attack
- Range: 15 Yards
- Cooldown: 120 Seconds
- Requirements: Shield, Shield Bash II & Level 5
- Cost: 2 Points

Shield Wall
- Effect: You quickly raise your shield and automatically block all incoming projectiles for 8 seconds.
- Type: Direct Effect
- Cooldown: 80 Seconds
- Requirements: Shield & Level 3
- Cost: 2 Points

Bulwark
- Effect: You dig deep into your training on defensive stances, becoming a wall of defense. For the duration, you gain +2 AC, +25% to all damage resistances, +2 to saving throws, and +5 maximum hit points. These effects last 15 seconds.

Extended Defense
- Effect: You've spent your life dedicated to protecting your allies. As a passive ability, all nearby allies gain +1 armor class while they are within a 2-yard range of you.
