Lightning in Sword Coast Legends is an Ability tree only available to Wizards. Wizards use the art to channel raw power in the form of lightning. What starts as the ability to shock enemies with small sparks can eventually turn into the ability to unleash powerful electrical storms that leap between enemies on the battlefield.



Lightning Abilities

  • Effect: A beam of crackling, blue energy lances out toward a creature within range forming an arc of lightning between you and your target. On a hit, the target takes 2-10 Lightning damage.
  • Type: Cantrip - Ranged
  • Range: 18 Yards
  • Cooldown: 2 Seconds
  • Requirements: None (Ability Known)
  • Cost: None
  • Ranks: IV

  • Effect: Your Lightning and Thunder attacks are empowered, increasing your damage when dealing those damage types by 2. You also gain a 3% chance to stun your target anytime you deal Lightning damage.
  • Type: Passive
  • Requirements: Level 5
  • Cost: 2 Points
  • Ranks: IV

  • Effect: A wave of thunderous force sweeps out from you. Each creature within 7 yards must make a DC 9 Constitution saving throw or take 3-15 Thunder damage, get pushed back up to 3 yards, and be deafened for 10 seconds. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage and is pushed away a small amount.
  • Type: Ranged Area of Effect
  • Range: 7 Yards
  • Cooldown: 40 Seconds

  • Cost: 1 Point

  • Effect: A stroke of lightning in the form of a line blasts out in a direction of your choice. Each creature in the line must make a DC 9 Dexterity saving throw or take 12-48 Lightning damage, or half as much damage on a successful save.
  • Type: Ranged
  • Range: 18 Yards
  • Cooldown: 120 Seconds
  • Requirements: Thunderwave & Level 5
  • Cost: 2 Points
  • Ranks: III

  • Effect: You create a bolt of lightning that arcs toward a target of your choice. The bolt then to up to three other targets within range. Each target that fails a DC 9 Dexterity saving throw takes 19-79 Lightning damage, or half as much on a successful save.
  • Type: Ranged
  • Range: 18 Yards
  • Cooldown: 240 Seconds
  • Requirements: Lightning Bolt III & Level 11
  • Cost: 3 Points
  • Ranks: I
